Amazon.com Streaming Prime Instant Video to Xbox 360

"You can already stream Prime Instant Videos on your Kindle Fire, your PlayStation 3, your Roku, and hundreds of other TVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes. Today, we're excited to announce that the Xbox 360 joins the fold."

About time! And you can also set up a "wait list" much like the que you set up in Netflix. Too bad they don't have it set up for iPad or for Apple TV but at least you can watch it on your Mac. Personally, the more they add to Xbox 360 the happier I get since it means I'm that much closer to getting rid of Dish Network. I'm almost there actually, between this and Hulu + and Apple TV, along with the iPad apps I use I pretty much can get all I want except for sports. And for that I can always go to a bar or a friends house, sports are more fun to watch in groups anyway right?

Yea, I Know it's not Exactly Apple Related But...

"Microsoft's just dropped details on its new Xbox Live family subscription plan."

I use NullRiver's Connect360 to stream my iTunes content to my Xbox 360 so, in a roundabout way, it is Apple related yes? Anyway, the details are pretty good if you have several in your family, as they are making available a family plan for $99.00 USD that will include up to four members of your household. No longer will each of you have to fork over $49.00 USD or so a year to keep your Xbox Live account going. Pretty good deal in my opinion. And if you are an Xboxer like me, send me a friend request!

Stream Content From iTunes to PS3 or Xbox

"Yazsoft on Thursday announced the release of Playback 1.0, an "Extreme Media Server" for Mac OS X. It costs $15."

I have been using a similar product, Nullriver's Connect 360, to connect my Xbox 360 to my iTunes library for a couple years now and it works pretty well. But it is always good to have options, and this new one by Yazsoft is $5.00 US cheaper than the Nullriver program. This program by Yazsoft also works with the Playstation 3. The other advantage I noticed with Yazsoft's Playback 1.0 is that it also works with Aperture, where the Connect 360 only works with iPhoto. I may give this a try since Yazsoft offers 7 day free trial just to see which one I like better, but I've been pretty happy with Connect 360 so I may not tempt fate. If I had a Playstation 3 I certainly would consider it.
