"Money is tight for many this holiday season. If you can't buy someone an iPad, perhaps you can still show them you love them with the iPad cutting board."
Cute. And it's available now from myBrett for 15 Euros.

"After over 68 days of hell, the Chilean miners that are being rescued today will have a nice surprise when they finally see the light of the day again. LeFigaro has just announced that each of them will be getting a brand new iPod to cheer them up, courtesy of our venerable leader Steve Jobs himself. Yes, they come as a personal gift."
Nice gesture, but I agree with the author, hope it is at least an iPod Touch. Wonder if they even know who Steve Jobs is? Or care at this point, I'm sure they are just glad to be out of that hell hole!

"From time to time I come across an iPhone app I think would make a great gift for a friend or family member (in this case, my mom, since she has an iPod Touch and everyone else in my family is either Apple-phobic or a Luddite). Problem is, it just seems too authoritarian to send them a $5 iTunes Store gift card with stipulations on how to spend it."
This is indeed a welcome change to the iTunes Store, one that will come in handy for me. How about you, think you will be using this new feature?

"The first bottle of champagne has popped at the office party when you realize you forgot to buy your reports gifts. Last year you gave out Flingshot Flying Monkeys and inspired an epic cubical war. How can you top that with ten minutes to spare? Here are some ideas for the truly behind who still want to spread holiday cheer."

The usual gift certificates from iTunes and Amazon.com (which can be emailed last minute which is a bonus if you forgot to mail that package), but you can also pick up any number of gift cards from Safeway Stores. They have a wide selection if you have a Safeway Store in your area. I'm sure other grocery stores do the same, and you can also gift some e-books via CD which is nice for that reader in the bunch. Having spent too many Christmas Eves in stores trying to get that last minute gift, I have so embraced technology this year and done pretty much everything online, and I especially like the gift wrap option. I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and good luck if you have to find those few last minute gifts!

"No, I'm not talking about any of these Lego Mac mods, A relatively new startup called MacSlaps brings us some personalization goodness in the form of custom vinyl stickers for your MacBook and MacBook Pro."
They really have done a cool job with these vinyl stickers, utilizing the glowing Apple logo on the back of the laptop as part of the image. They have some other examples on their website, and supposedly they are offering custom designs. However when I clicked on that link, I got the dreaded "Not Found" error so it is still a work in progress.
