Real Racing 2 HD: Now Here's Some Innovation

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 01:00 PM

If I were working in the console gaming group at Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo, I'd look at this video and break out into a cold sweat - or I'd start thinking hard about the ways that the mobile devices my company makes could be leveraged in the same way. Microsoft in particular has been hearing for years that Windows Mobile phones could be great secondary gaming devices, but they never managed to do anything with them until Windows Phone 7 - and now we're seeing the first steps toward leveraging the two devices into something interesting.

One things for sure: the graphics chip on the iPad 2 is capable of some powerful stuff!

Scosche SneakPeek II for Video Output from iPad or iPhone

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 06:00 AM

"Photos, videos, music, all in the palm of your hand. But what if you want to share them with your friends and family? Crowding around an iPhone or even an iPad screen can be a frustrating experience. Scosche's new SneakPeek II simplifies things by letting you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your TV with your choice of component or composite cables."

The cable runs $59.99 USD (currently out of stock at Scosche) which is about $10.00 USD more than the one that Apple sells, but this one has the advantage of being a combo cable so you can connect via component or composite depending on your needs. This is compatible with all the models of the iPhones and iPod Touch, iPod with video, iPod classic and the third through sixth generations of iPod nanos.

Netflix, Now With iPhone/iPod Touch Video Out

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 06:30 AM

http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/10...port-video-out/

"We all knew that the iPad version of Netflix's app supported TV out, allowing you to... you know... hook up your iPad to your TV, but it was a bit disappointing that the feature was missing on the iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G."

Well now you can output your Netflix (free app link) video from your iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4th Generation. If you have the correct cable of course.

It's Showtime!

Posted by Vincent Ferrari in "Apple iPhone & iPod Touch" @ 02:00 PM

http://www.ohgizmo.com/2009/01/29/s...hone-to-any-tv/

"If you’re the type that loves to show off pictures (or even video) to everyone you meet, you’re going to love this new iPod/iPhone accessory from Scosche. I don’t usually go around showing of dozens of pictures on my iPhone to friends and family, but if I did, I might look into one of these showTIME adapters. This cable is pretty simple and straight-forward. Just plug one end into your iPhone or iPod and the other goes into the RCA inputs on a TV. You can then control a slideshow of your favorite pics, or even show off a video or two if you like."

This is a great find by OhGizmo and another reason to love my iPhone. I know it isn't the first device to have TV out, and I know the quality won't be the best ever, but when traveling, hooking my iPod up to a hotel TV was something I used to do quite regularly. This should be just as useful as that old retractable cable was years ago!
