iPhone 3G Not Supported in Apple's New Game Center

"Apple has updated its Game Centre overview page today to provide details on which devices will be supported when the social gaming network goes live on Wednesday with the release of the new iOS 4.1 update."

If you're still holding onto your iPhone 3G, you won't be able to use Apple's new Game Center. I'm not surprised by that at all. The 3G is over 2 years old now, and handset technology changes rapidly. I'd be surprised if Apple could get it working at all on the 3G without some major effort and a lot of headaches for 3G users. If you really want Game Center, you'll either have to upgrade to a new iPhone, or buy yourself an iPod Touch (2nd gen or later).
