Verizon iPhone Demand Not What Was Expected

"The day is finally upon us, when U.S. iPhone owners get a choice in which carrier to put up with. The Verizon iPhone 4 launched publicly Thursday morning to mixed lines across the country."

Mixed results indeed, as there were nowhere near the lines for the Verizon iPhone 4 that everyone expected. It could be for several reasons though, namely the pre-order sales to existing customers from week earlier, or the fact that it is so close to the iPhone 5 the smart move is to wait a few months and see what Apple is going to announce. I'm betting that it is a combination of both. The current customers gave Verizon their best ever pre-order numbers so quite a few obviously ordered the iPhone 4, and when it opened up to the general public, I'm pretty sure those AT&T customers that want to switch are going to wait until the iPhone 5 is announced. At least that is what I'm surmising since according to this survey there weren't that many switchers making the purchase. I guess we shall really find out in June when the iPhone 5 is expected to be announced won't we?
