"Exclusive pitch type, location, and speed data make At Bat 2009 the fastest, most detailed way to follow baseball on your iPhone and iPod touch. Listen LIVE to every regular season and Postseason game with your choice of home or visiting team announcers and no blackout restrictions. Watch the best plays of the game moments after they happen. The app will detect your connection speed to deliver the optimal quality video."

My iPhone 3G wasn't even home yet on July 11th, and I had already downloaded the MLB At Bat app. It was the app that made me want a 3G more than any other during the demo. Over the course of last season, it evolved quite nicely into a very well rounded app and the pitch by pitch stuff made it one of the best ways to watch a game when you couldn't. Now, they've even added Gameday Audio for all games (home and away audio starting April 6th) so if you're up for listening to your team (or checking in on the team they're chasing) you can do that too. The new version costs $9.99, but an audio subscription alone on MLB.com costs $14.99 so it's a pretty good deal.

And, of course, you can pass on the audio and video and get the free version, but really, what's the point of that, right?
