Apple Thoughts: No iPad For You!

"Apple is fresh out of 3G iPads across the US and has limited stocks of the WiFi-only models, Piper Jaffray reports this morning. Analyst Gene Munster called 50 Apple retail stores to get a "feel' for iPad supplies. He states that 74 percent of stores were sold out, 26 percent had some WiFi models, and none had the 3G."

However you can still order online and get one in 7 to 10 days, or order at your Apple Store and get it in around 4 days. Just not the same if you can't walk out the door with your purchase but that appears to be the situation in some areas. Knowing that Munster has been wrong in the past, I called one of the Portland area Apple Stores. The Bridgeport Village store had a limited supply of both kinds, in varying storage configurations, so its not all gloom and doom. Unless you were hoping for a price drop. I doubt that will happen anytime soon based on the sales numbers.
