Apple Thoughts: Block or Silence Those Unwanted Cell Calls

"Dear Lifehacker, I'm receiving tons of unwanted calls per day. My carrier suggests that I change my number, but I don't want to do that. Is there anything else I can do?"

We had this happen on my daughter's iPhone, and the customer service rep from AT&T told us there was nothing they could do about it. Apparently that info is wrong according to this handy article about blocking unwanted phone calls. AT&T has a service called Smart Limits that does indeed allow you to block unwanted calls. You can also do this deceptively simple trick with silent ringtones.
