Sling Adapter for Dish Network

"Sling today Thursday rolled out the Sling Adapter as both one of its lowest cost TV streamers and its first dedicated to its partner Dish. Running solely through its USB connection, it shares the TV from any ViP 722 or 722k DVR over either a web browser or a mobile app. Viewers can steer the DVR alongside controlling channels."

Sweet, something for me to use that might actually work out ok. The icing on the cake would be for it to work with the NFL Channel's RedZone, and I don't see any reason why it won't. Sling is rolling out an updated iPad app soon, which will work with this device, but the current Dish App for the iPhone and iPod Touch [free on iTunes] is supposed to be compatible with this new device. I may have to keep Dish Network after all.

Dish to Stream Live TV on Your iDevices

"Sounds really cool until you start reading the details."

I have to agree that one part isn't cool, and that is having to either buy a SlingBox or pay $200.00 to $400.00 USD to upgrade your DVR in order to use this service. The upgrade fee is a bit excessive and that is what would prevent me from using this service, especially since there are so many other options out there to access the programs I normally record for viewing later. But the rest of it I could live with, such as the $10.00 USD monthly fee (I already pay that since we have two DVRs). How about you, does this interest you at all or are the costs too much in relation to the benefit?
