Sonoma Wire Works' Guitar Jack

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 03:00 AM

http://www.cultofmac.com/159825/the...-pocket-review/

"There are no shortage of gadgets out there that allow you connect your guitar to your iPhone, putting the power of The App Store at your guitar's disposal."

I'm no musician, but I'm sure there are some out there reading this, so if you have been looking for that perfect gadget to connect your guitar to your iPhone, Cult of Mac says this is the one to get. It's not cheap at $150.00 USD, but from the article it sounds like a sturdy accessory. You can find out about the jack at the Sonoma site here.

Tune Your Acoustic Guitar With Your iPad

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 03:00 AM

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2011/05/...tic-guitar-ipad

"The Acoustic Guitar Tuner HD (Free) by Amy Faulkner does exactly what its title claims. It is an HD quality guitar tuner that looks and sounds like an acoustic guitar."

The purpose is to allow you to tune your own acoustic guitar, and this iPad HD app does just that apparently. I don't know anything about tuning a guitar, let alone how to play one so I'll have to leave this to those that do. And the reviewer, who in fact does tune his own guitars, said it was pretty darn good. Worth a shot and it's free so no loss if you don't like it.

Turn Your iPhone/iPod Touch Into an Electric Guitar

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone & iPod Touch" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/01/2...guitar-sort-of/

"Japan-based Bird Electron has announced [JP] the Ezison 100 today, a quite unusual speaker for the iPhone (or iPod touch) that's supposed to turn those devices into some kind of electric guitar. The Ezison 100 is (hand)made in Japan, with Bird Electron saying they used mainly wood and acrylic fiber in the production process."

Here are some of the specs: 2W digital amp using three AAA batteries, weighing in at 650g and measuring 450x150x35mm. Turn yourself into a guitar hero with any number of apps in the iTunes app store. It's expected to go on sale in about a month at Bird Electronics website, for roughly $250.00 USD. Sorry no link but the site isn't accessible or working when I tried to check on it.
