Some CES Navigation Help From Audi and Navigon

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 02:46 PM

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2011/01/...e-navigons-app/

"Navigon and Audi have teamed up to offer CES 2011 goers a free and convenient way to navigate the streets of Las Vegas."

It's a free app [link] and comes with a lot of features, that even if you weren't going to CES you would find useful in Las Vegas. The bonus is that it comes with data for the entire state of Nevada, not just Las Vegas. But if you are in Las Vegas, it offers turn-by-turn, weather conditions, parking and even pedestrian mode if you are walking and need some guidance. It's based on the Navigon app MobileNavigator, and obviously has some branding you need to put up with since Audi is sponsoring it.

SuperMeet Agenda Set For Tomorrow in Vegas

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 11:00 AM

http://prmac.com/release-id-12005.htm

"The agenda has now been set for the Ninth Annual Las Vegas SuperMeet to take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in the Amazon Ballroom at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Doors open at 4:00PM and presentations begin at 7PM and continue until 11:00PM."

SuperMeets are for Final Cut Studio, Adobe and Avid editors and digital filmmakers, who use or want to use Macintosh-based products for their workflow. They are held annually in a variety of cities and this time it is in Las Vegas. Tickets are on sale online for $15.00 USD each, or you can buy one at the door for $20.00 USD ($10.00 USD with valid student ID). You can also watch it streamed live at ZapLive.tv after registering. You can find more details at the SuperMeet site.

Apple at CES?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.9to5mac.com/ces-apple-2009

"The Consumer Electronics Association, which hosts CES in Las Vegas every January, said Thursday that the trade show will expand its Apple section from 4,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet. Frankly, 4,000 square feet isn't really that much to begin with (imagine a 50x80 foot room). There is still cause for some interest from the Apple community."

Kind of makes you wonder if Apple will indeed be a part of trade shows after all, in spite of saying that it wasn't going to do these anymore and that is why it wasn't going to be part of Macworld Expo. They said they were going to concentrate on customers at it's own stores and developer conferences, but this seems to indicate that perhaps they are going to have some sort of presence doesn't it?
