Macbook Air Crammed Into Apple Keyboard and Magic Trackpad

Posted by Joe Johaneman in "Other Apple Hardware" @ 06:30 AM

http://gizmodo.com/5613828/theres-a...-magic-trackpad

"The intrepid modder behind the MacBook Air Project received a busted up MBA as a gift and decided that instead of fixing it up, he'd tear it apart and shove it inside an Apple keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Now he's got himself some input devices that house a fully-functioning 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo Mac with an 80GB hard drive."

I'm not sure why anyone would want this. Sure, it's a cool mod, but you have to attach a monitor to it, which means you can get the same exact look with an iMac, and it'll be a lot faster and have a much bigger hard drive. That being said, though, it is pretty cool looking. And I guess this would be very transportable. Okay, I take it back; I want one. Anybody else feeling a craving for a Keyboard/Track Pad Air Mod?

Turn Your iPad Into an iBook or a Mac Classic

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 10:00 AM

"‘Scuse me if I keep this short on commentary -- but recall way back when first-gen iMacs suddenly found a new lease of life as fish tanks?"

I do, and I still want one! Pretty cool mods done of an iBook and a Mac Classic, allowing an iPad to be used with the cases. Seems more trouble than it's worth to me though.

How About a Black Mac Mini?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Desktops" @ 08:00 AM

http://osxdaily.com/2010/03/23/blac...ly+(OS+X+Daily)

"Here's a pretty cool case mode for the Mac Mini, turning it into a nice black little box. How the guy went about it seems a little cost prohibitive for my tastes ($129 for a new black frame! Why not just paint it?) but the end result is pretty nice looking. Kind of makes you wish Apple made them in black too huh? I'm still hoping Apple releases new revisions in pure unibody aluminum rather than the plastic top."

I won't hold my breath about the uni-body, but I do like the color change this guy did. There are detailed instructions here should you be so inclined!
