"Just Mobile has launched the US$39.95 Xtand Go, a flexible, in-car gadget mount. It can be used to secure your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 to your windshield or dashboard while you drive."

Nice clean device, and they also have more for iPads and such, check it out here.

The Joy Factory iPad Wall/Cabinet Mount

Posted by Eric Juillerat in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 07:00 AM

Seinfeld fans out there will recall how George felt about crushed red velvet. To borrow his sentiments, I'd wrap myself in carbon fiber if I could. If it has carbon fiber in it, I have to have it; mountain bike, watch, ring, Lamborghini Aventador, it doesn't really matter. So when I saw that The Joy Factory had just released a carbon fiber iPad mount, well, yeah, it had to come home. Read more...

A Mac Mini Kickstarter Project

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Desktops" @ 05:00 AM

https://www.kickstarter.com/project...-mount?ref=live

"In keeping with making things as efficient as possible, I don't have any paper in my office, I stand in front of my wall mounted screen, and I recently got rid of my desk entirely, instead choosing a simple rolling keyboard stand. This doesn't leave much room for a computer, even one as small as the 2010 Mac Mini. I wanted to wall mount it but there are only a couple mounts made for the second generation Mac Mini and none of them quite suited my needs."

So he did what any able bodied inventor type would do...he created his own mount for his Mac Mini. This is one of the projects over at Kickstarter, and so far they have raised $450.00 USD out of the $6,000.00 USD requested. As with all of these Kickstarter projects, there are several funding levels from $10.00 USD all the way up to $5,000.00 USD, with each level offering perks as you move up the chain.

How Sturdy is Your Windshield Mount?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 05:00 AM

http://gizmodo.com/5731914/the-mili...t=Google+Reader

"Using touchscreens in the car can be such a hassle, because even if you put them in a dash or windshield mount where they're safely in your line of sight, they still wiggle around too much. Or they did."

Not with this mount from RAM though, according to the author. It does look pretty solid, and after doing some research on it, I've found that it also has several attachments available so you can get it to work with a variety of mobile devices. So buy the arm [affiliate link], then you can buy any number of attachments to work with your particular device (they even have setups for bicycling). I've ordered one so I'll report back and let you know just how sturdy it is since I plan on using it in my Jeep, not the smoothest of rides.

Best Idea for an iPad Mount? No, But it Sure is Funny!

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 02:57 PM

http://osxdaily.com/2010/09/30/the-...ly+(OS+X+Daily)

"This has to be the worst iPad car mount solution I have ever seen, which is exactly why it's so funny. It's actually a joke product called the iArm Forearm Mount, and the product itself doesn't exist, but you can buy the box and fool your friends anyway if you feel like wasting $8 on some cardboard with amusing pictures."

Can you imagine seeing someone wearing this while driving? Glad it is just a joke, with an empty box instead of the actual item, or I'm sure people would be using it. You can find out more about the gag gift at iArm. From the looks of the photos on the site, you could have also used it to hold your dinner plate.

The Wallee, a Solution for your iPad Mounting Needs

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 06:00 AM

http://www.cultofmac.com/the-wallee...w+(Cult+of+Mac)

"The Wallee is both a hard case for iPad as well as a simple and efficient wall mounting solution. It allows you to use your iPad throughout your home. It's one of the best solutions out there, and delivers both on style and functionality. The Wallee is a gadget that is so well-engineered that I often forget about it. It has just blended its way into my everyday life - just like the iPad itself."

This is a very slick solution for mounting an iPad, consisting of an unobtrusive bracket and an x-shaped mounting dock. Simple and effective, well worth checking out at Wallee for $49.00 USD.
