"When Apple announced they'd picked up Sprint as a carrier for the iPhone, my first though wasn't about data plans or download speeds or this G or that G, it was about the NFL. Finally, after a couple years as an iPhone owner, I'd be able to get a Seattle Seahawks skins for my iPhone 4."

The best thing about getting Sprint on board with the iPhone.

"The NFL's Thursday Night Football schedule is now in full swing, but if your cable provider doesn't give you access to the NFL Network, you've been missing out on some pretty good football."

Not anymore. With this update you are supposed to be able to watch the online broadcast of the Thursday night games. Since this is the first Thursday night since the app was updated, we shall see if it actually works!

Need Some App Ideas for Super Bowl Weekend? Here Ya Go...

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 12:00 PM

"If you need some iOS help to get ready and watch the Super Bowl, then you will want to check this AppList out. There are apps for those going to the game, watching at home, or even those stuck at work while the game is on."

There are several that are pretty good, even a couple from the NFL that are free, such as the NFL Super Bowl XLV app that gives you a map of the stadium, nearby restaurants, etc. This is also a universal app for use on the iPad. The Super Bowl host committee also has an app more oriented to the stadium and the Dallas area (including the Cowboys) but it is also free. For the iPad only, you can download the official Super Bowl XLV program guide with histories of the Steelers and the Packers, as well as some video from Super Bowls of the past. One that was pretty cool in the paid apps list was The Football Book from Sports Illustrated, priced at $14.99 USD [affiliate link], and provides a pretty complete history of the game. There are many more oriented to this iconic event so your choices are certainly not limited. Go Pack!
