No Surprise Here, But iPad Dominates Tablet Web Traffic

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:30 AM

"'There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Apple's iPad is the biggest seller in the tablet space, but we have seen many iPad competitors come out over recent months, including Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Blackberry PlayBook, Amazon Kindle Fire, and many more,' Royal Pingdom reports."

I have a feeling that, based on what I'm reading about the Kindle Fire, that these figures may go down for the iPad with the next report, but 88% of the tablet web traffic is pretty impressive don't you think? Price will drive the Kindle Fire purchases even with reports that it isn't all it's cracked up to be, like this one. What are your thoughts?

AHA Mobile to Keep You in the Traffic Loop

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch)" @ 10:00 AM

"The Aha Mobile app is designed for ease of use while driving, although they stress it should only be used when traffic conditions permit (and you'll want to check your state laws relating to cell phone use in the car as well)."

These is a pretty nifty app, free and available now in the iTunes store. Unfortunately for me it doesn't cover the areas I drive in regularly, but they are working on adding to the list. Currently it only covers Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, and Seattle. One feature that sounds interesting is the Bad Driver Shout Room, where you can hear people vent in short bursts about bad drivers they have encountered. Guess that is better than getting out of the car and confronting them.
