"Apple is showing off its iAd advertising service today, with a preview of how advertisements will look when the service launches on the iPad in 2011. Quite aptly, Apple is demonstrating the future of advertising by basing its first iAd around Tron Legacy, a move which has been hailed for its futuristic qualities."

According to the article, the ad takes over the full screen when it appears and comes with over ten minutes of video along with images and information about the movie, as well as theaters and showtimes. You can also purchase the soundtrack on iTunes without even leaving the ad. But this will be it for 2010 according to Apple Insider, who reports that this iAd will be the only one released until 2011, however in Europe iAds is debuting this month. I don't know about you but I'm very interested to see how this plays out, from what I've seen of the iAd examples they appear to have done a great job with them. I much prefer these to the other banner ads I've seen in various applications, and I'm more apt to actually check them out if there is some interactivity involved. What are your thoughts?
