Vogel's RingO: A Universal Tablet Mounting System

Posted by Eric Juillerat in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 10:00 AM

There are 15,873,213.5 iPad cases and stands, and dozens of iPad mounts. While that statement may not be completely accurate, it would be fair to say there are a lot. So what's with another review of the same old stuff? In a word, "System". A complete and comprehensive eco-system of compatible cases, stands and mounts for tablets. And as far as I can see, there may only be a few tablet "Systems" in existence. We're going to look at one - Vogel's RingO Universal Mounting System. Welcome to the Pros, my friend.

Summary:

Haute couture is a French term reserved for clothing of the finest craftsmanship, most exclusive materials, and one-off custom-fitted design. In this world beads are often jewels, and threads are commonly made of real gold and silver. I can speak to this directly, as my wife studied at the Haute Couture House of Lesage, in Paris, France. I myself, have held a dress valued at nearly half a million dollars. But one question has since beseeched an answer: when draped in such a work of art, how does one dress their electronics to match? Noreve Saint-Tropez elegantly presents the answer in their line of Haute Couture cases for mobile devices. Read more...

Need a Case For Your New MacBook Air?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Laptops" @ 05:00 AM

http://www.appletell.com/apple/comm...etell+Appletell

"Already have your MacBook Air ordered? Good for you! I don't, sadly, which is a shame, because it's exactly what I wanted the iPad to be when I bought that. Such is life. Regardless, now that your Air is on the way, you should probably start looking into cases and accessories. A few companies-companies we like, even-were quick to announce their MacBook Air case lines, so we've rounded them up here for you."

I love Waterfield Designs' cases, great quality of workmanship, and now they have one for your new MacBook Air. This isn't the only company listed in the article, they also have examples of cases from Tom Bihn, as well as screen protectors from ShaggyMac for the 11.6 and 13.3-inch versions. I use one of the screen protectors on my older MacBook Air and it keeps the key outlines from showing up on your screen.

The exolife iPhone 4 Battery Case Looks Awesome

Posted by Joe Johaneman in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 08:00 AM

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2010/07/...e-4-debut-july/

"The perfect case for the iPhone 4 might have been found. Created by EXOGEAR, the new exolife for iPhone 4 will be released at the end of the month."

This rechargeable battery case from EXOGEAR looks really nice, and the manufacturer claims it will double your battery life. I'm amazed at how well it fits with the look of the current iPhone, though I can see how some people would find the huge EXOGEAR logo at the bottom annoying. It'll be available at the end of July for $89.95, and will come in black or white. Does anybody have the EXOGEAR case for the iPhone 3G/3GS, and if so, what is the battery life like?

Protect That iPad!

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Other Apple Hardware" @ 02:00 PM

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/01/27/tom-...-two-ipad-bags/

"And let the accessorizing begin! Tom Bihn, maker of messenger bags and laptop bags, has already announced two bags that will fit the iPad."

One called the Cache is more like a sleeve, and the other called Ristretto is pictured above. Tom Bihn isn't the only one either, the folks at Magnetism have also jumped into the iPad case field offering a couple choices of their own, but instead of synthetic material they use clothing grade fabric and linings. Not to be outdone Belkin also has a line of iPad covers. I'm sure in the next month or two many more will jump into the fray for accessories for the iPad. But to tell you the truth, the cover that Apple came up with is pretty slick and will be hard to beat.

Simplism Cases for your iPod

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone & iPod Touch" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ba...h-a-big-lineup/

"There aren't many major iPod and iPhone accessory brands that haven't brought-or tried to bring-their product lines to consumers in the United States. The launch of Japanese brand Simplism here enables us to cross one more name off the ever-shrinking list; the company has developed a dominant position on store shelves in Japan, as we noticed during our most recent visit there in November, and now it is bringing a massive collection of its products to American customers."

These are fantastic looking cases, at least on the surface even though, per the article, there are some inconsistencies with the stitching and other design decisions. They also make charging accessories for a wide range of Apple products. Not sure yet on the availability, but you can see more examples and prices at a review iLounge did at the end of December.
