Mailplane Updated to Take Advantage of Priority Inbox of Gmail

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 05:00 AM

"Mailplane, an excellent Gmail client for Mac that many of us Gizmodoers rely on every day, just got a new upgrade (2.2) that brings support for Gmail's actually-pretty-useful Priority Inbox, among other things. Great software that we enthusiastically recommend."

I recommend Mailplane as well, an excellent Gmail client that makes switching between Gmail accounts as easy as a mouse click. They are always quick to update to coincide with any changes in Gmail and the priority inbox update is no different. If you have multiple Gmail accounts, this is an excellent choice and should be considered.

Mailplane Updated to 2.1.4

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 11:00 AM

Not sure if you use Mailplane, but if you use Gmail, you are missing out if you don't have this program. And now they have updated to version 2.1.4. This update fixes a few bugs and appearance malfunctions and is done through the program itself. If you don't have it, they do offer a free trial and single user license is $24.95 USD.

Mailplane 2.0 Now Official and Available

Posted by Vincent Ferrari in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 12:00 PM

"After many months of development and beta testing, Mailplane 2.0 is now available for all users. Your current Mailplane 1.x license is valid for all 2.x updates, too. Many many thanks for the beta testing, the numerous bug reports, and the interesting feature requests. Mailplane 2.0 would not have been possible without your help, ideas, and involvement."

If I erased my Mac's HD tomorrow, the first app to make its way back on it would be Mailplane. I've been using it since before it was officially in version 1, and I can't imagine life without it. While you could easily get a lot of functionality from the web-based version of G-Mail, the ease with which Mailplane handles attachments, iPhoto photos, multiple accounts, and the fact that it provides Growl notifications make it a must install for those who are major power users of G-Mail.
