Kodak Defeated in Patent Case Against Apple and RIM

Posted by Joe Johaneman in "Apple News" @ 08:00 AM

"Eastman Kodak Company has lost a critical part of its ITC case against Apple and RIM, in which the company which claims invention of the first ever digital camera back in 1975 has been trying to win royalty payments on a common image-preview feature used in phones."

While the ruling could be overturned by a six-panel review board, it's unlikely. Apple has filed a patent-infringement complaint against Kodak as well, and that trial will begin on January 31st.

Patent Shows iPad/Laptop Combo from Apple

Posted by Joe Johaneman in "Apple Laptops" @ 09:00 AM

"Patently Apple has discovered a new patent granted to Apple that shows a laptop transforming into an iPad."

Personally, I can't see why I'd ever want this. One of the reasons I like my iPad is that it is incredibly light. I don't want to add the weight of a keyboard to it. If I wanted that, I'd have purchased a laptop. Does this look like something you'd be interested in purchasing?
