Apple Releases Update Providing RAW Support for Six New Cameras

"Apple on Tuesday released a system-wide update that adds RAW image support for six new cameras."

This is an OS X Lion update, which will allow RAW data from Canon EOS-1D X, Nikon D800E, Nikon D3200, Olympus OM-D-E-M5, Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF5 and Sony Alpha SLT-A57 cameras. You can get it via software update or going here.

Apple Updates Raw Compatibility With Update 2.7

"Apple has released Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 2.7, software that extends RAW image compatibility for selected Canon and Nikon cameras and Aperture 2, iPhoto '08 and iPhoto '09."

From the post: "The software introduces RAW support for six cameras:Canon EOS-1D Mark IV (pictured), Canon EOS 7D, Canon PowerShot G11, Nikon D3S, Nikon D300S and Nikon D3000. The update shows up in Software Update but isn't yet available for download from the Apple website."

Hey Camera Buffs, Apple Offers Up Raw Compatibility Update 2.5

"Apple on Monday added support in its software for raw image files from Nikon's top-end SLR, the $8,000, 24.5-megapixel D3X. Apple's Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 2.5 also adds support for Epson's Epson R-D1x digital rangefinder camera, according to the Apple support page."

This software update requires Mac OS X 10.4.11, Mac OS X 10.5.3 or later. It enables iPhoto '08 and '09 as well as Aperture 2 to interpret raw files on the two cameras. You can find out more about the update direct from the Apple support page.

    "This update extends RAW file compatibility for Aperture 2 and iPhoto ’08 for the following cameras: Canon EOS 50D, Nikon D90, Sony DSLR-A900, Nikon Coolpix P6000. It also addresses issues related to specific cameras and overall stability."

    If you're like me and like buying the newest shiniest cameras, this update has your name all over it. It's available now in Software Update, or if you just can't wait that long, hit up the link above and grab it the old fashioned way!
