Network Television on Your Mobile Device

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 04:00 AM

http://appadvice.com/appnn/2010/11/...-apple-devices/

"Broadcast networks are extremely touchy when it comes to allowing access to their shows via mobile devices. This is definitely true when it comes to the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad."

So yes, Hulu and Netflix come to mind, but now another option is out there called FilmOn. All you have to do is go to http://filmon.com on your iPad or iPhone to watch live TV. Of course this is being challenged in the courts as the networks are suing FilmOn to get them to stop, so hard telling how long you will have access. And some have reported having problems even getting it to work on the iPad, although it appears to work pretty well on the iPhone.

New Get a Mac Ads Debut

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.tuaw.com/2009/05/12/new-...-customer-care/

"During tonight's American Idol performances, people not only got to see their top-three performers in action, but also got a chance to view a three new Get a Mac ads. In the first one, Customer Care, PC tells his story of technical support to an Apple Genius while Mac looks on."

It is no secret I love the Get a Mac ads, so I tend to stop fast-forwarding through my DVR'd programs when I notice one. They are always top-notch and these three new ones are no different. If you didn't catch them during last nights American Idol, they and others are available on Apples' "Get a Mac" site.

Rubber Ducky, iTunes is the One

Posted by Vincent Ferrari in "Apple Talk" @ 02:00 PM

http://www.macdailynews.com/index.p...youtube_others/

"Fans of Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie and the Count will be able to see episodes and clips of the show in three ways [iTunes Store, YouTube, Hulu], according to a statement released by Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit group once known as the Children's Television Workshop and that started Sesame Street," MacMillan reports. "The announcement comes on the same day that 'Sesame Street,' which is broadcast in 140 countries, celebrates its 39th year on the air."

Sesame Street? On iTunes? I'm SO there. So what if I'm 32 years old? I'm already whistling "C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me," and "Rubber Ducky... You're the one!"

Anyone else going to be getting their muppet on when these start popping into iTunes? I know I will be. Even if it's only a few episodes and strictly for *cough* research purposes *cough.* At Apple Thoughts, we do the hard work so you guys don't have to.
