Find Your Files Using Found From the Mac App Store

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 12:00 PM

"Even though we have this really cool internet technology thing called the "cloud" that stores all of our pictures, music, documents, videos, and anything else we want to throw at it, searching for stuff inside the cloud still sucks."

Not so much anymore now that Found has made it's way to the Mac App Store. The free app can search across multiple services to find your files. And if you head to the Cult of Mac site, you can enter a contest to win one of three Macbook Airs donated by Found. Even if you don't win the laptop, having this handy app makes you feel like a winner. Well, ok that might be going too far but it sure does simplify your searches!

DragonDrop, A Must Have Utility

"Dragging and dropping is a great way to get stuff done on your Mac, but DragonDrop makes it even better. DragonDrop lets you set down what you're dragging, leaving you free to find your destination without worrying about keeping the mouse button held down."

This, is awesome. And only $4.99 in the Mac App Store.

Copy and Paste at the Same Time

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 02:00 AM

"This is why I love Mac developers - they see a problem and come up with an innovative, cool solution. If you've ever tried to copy and paste multiple lines of text, you know what a pain it is."

If you want to swap lines of text, this is the tool for you. It allows you to copy text that you are replacing with other text, while you are replacing it, if that makes sense. I've come across this problem in the past, as recently as yesterday, where I had to copy the text I wanted to replace, paste it on another line so I didn't lose it, then paste over the original line with the new text. Whew. It is a free download available here, and works on Snow Leopard.

AppVault 1.1 For All Your Utility Needs

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch)" @ 12:00 PM

http://prmac.com/release-id-9822.htm

"Ray Wenderlich has released AppVault 1.1 for iPhone and iPod touch. AppVault contains an iTunes Alarm Clock, Battery Monitor, Flashlight, Translator, Unit Converter, Bible, Tip Calculator, Level, Currency Converter, Guitar Toolkit, and 15 other popular utility apps in a single package."

Interesting concept, combining several (25 to be exact) utility programs in one app, all for $0.99 USD. I downloaded but have yet to run through all the programs, however what I've seen so far makes it easily worth the cost of the app.
