"Apple's new Mac App Store will officially open its doors on Thursday, January 6, 2011. The Mac App Store will let users buy Mac OS X applications much in the same way they already purchase apps for their iPhone, iPod touch and iPad."
In October they announced the store, and said it would be open within 90 days so it appears they made that target date. With this store, you will be able to search free and paid applications, in a variety of categories like education, games, graphics and utilities to name but a few. The applications are downloaded and installed in the same way you install apps on your iOS device. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I am looking forward to the convenience of this, but what are your thoughts about this new app store for Macs?
