What Goes on Inside Apple Retail?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Talk" @ 05:00 AM

"Although doing so usually ends with a current employee becoming a former employee, one Apple Store retail worker recently had a lot to say about his experience working for the company."

So they are kept in the dark until the keynote address just like the rest of us? I don't find that too surprising, I'd be more surprised if they knew in advance to be honest. But the article is an interesting one with some insight into the inner workings of the retail side of things at Apple, and you can read it at Popular Mechanics.

Need a New Wallpaper Image?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 09:00 AM

"Here we have it, the elusive White Sands wallpaper pack. I have done my best to pick a nice well rounded selection of images for everyone to enjoy."

The bonus is they are free, all you have to do is agree that they are for your personal use only. The site has wallpaper for iPhone as well as iPad. The site has some fantastic photography, well worth your time to check out if you are looking for some different background images.

"Well, would you look at that? The v1.2 update to MobileMe iDisk that Apple pushed out last month has a secret -- er, did have a secret."

And the not so secret secret is that it allows you to play audio via your MobileMe app, from your iDisk, while using another app. While this isn't exactly "iTunes in the cloud" that many sites are talking about, it is a step in the right direction.
