Trade in Your Old iPhone for iPhone 4 Credit at Target

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 06:00 AM

http://www.appletell.com/apple/comm...arting-this-su/

"Starting this Sunday, February 6th, & ending on Saturday, February 12th, those with a used iPhone 3G/3GS in working condition will be able to trade their old iDevices in at Target and receive up to $200 in credit towards an iPhone 4."

Of course, when you do this, you will be required to lock in on a 2-year commitment to AT&T. I'm sure as the time between now and June gets shorter, we are going to see lots of deals on current inventory, so If you can wait that is what I would do since we are all expecting the iPhone 5 to be released in June this year. It's becoming one of those things that is just expected isn't it? Not sure what we will do when the time comes and no new iPhone is released. There are also other deals in the article on a variety of products so even if you don't want an iPhone 4, you can still find some bargains.

iPhones Come to Target

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 02:30 AM

http://www.maclife.com/article/ipho...ng_november_7th

"Apple continues to expand the reach of its products to consumers. Today, retail giant Target announced it will start to offer the iPhone November 7th in each of its 846 stores that maintain Target Mobile centers. Target will offer up both the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS, and plans to deliver efficient on-the-spot activation."

It isn't too surprising is it? After all, they are already selling the iPad, so I suppose this was the natural addition to the inventory. The iPhone arrives on November 7th, and will be either the 3GS or 4 versions of the iPhone, and they will also be offering in-store activations.

Everyone is Selling the iPad!

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:04 AM

http://images.apple.com/v2010100115.../14ipadatt.html

"AT&T* and Apple® today announced that all three iPadTM Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available at more than 2,200 AT&T Stores starting Thursday, October 28. AT&T will offer customers 3G pre-paid data plans for iPad, complete with Apple's easy on-device activation and management. All iPad data plans are available without a term contract and include unlimited access to AT&T's 23,000+ domestic Wi-Fi Hot Spots."

Target is selling the iPad now, while Wal-Mart is set to begin selling the iPad starting October 15th. Sam's Club will also be selling it in the near future, so I guess it was just logical that AT&T get in the mix. But that is not all. Verizon is also set to begin selling the Wi-Fi version of the iPad at the end of October, with an optional bundle that includes the MiFi Hotspot for an extra $130.00 USD. Since you can't use the iPad 3G on the Verizon network, this is a good option (I do the same thing with my Wi-Fi only iPad) and it turns out the price difference is what you would pay for a 3G version of an iPad.

Target Selling iPads Starting October 3rd

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 03:00 AM

http://www.9to5mac.com/28133/target...e+Intelligence)

"Target this morning made the rumors that they will be selling the iPad, legit. According to the Associated Press Target announced they will begin selling Apple's iPad on October 3rd via their retail locations."

If you have a Target credit card, they are also going to be offering a 5% discount starting on October 17th, however you will be limited on your choices since it appears they are only offering the three wi-fi versions and one as yet to be determined 3G version.

Strong Sales for Apple in February

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 08:00 AM

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...in_quarter.html

"New retail sales data shows Apple has continued to have strong Mac and iPod sales at the start of 2010, with February's numbers showing significant year-over-year growth."

iPod sales were also up 5% in January and 10% in February from the same time last year. They are calling 2010 the "Year of the Mac" over at Piper Jaffray, estimating sales for the March quarter in the 2.8 to 2.9 million range, and list a target price of $284.00 USD for Apple Stock during the next 12 months.

iPhone Gross Profit Margins Close to 60%

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 07:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/03/03/ipho...gins-nearly-60/

"Bernstein Research's Toni Sacconaghi issued a 13-page report last week in which he estimated that the iPhone's gross profit margins were an astounding 57.8%. Those margins tower above Apple's competitors with RIM estimated to have 43% profit margins, Nokia 33%, Motorola 32%, and HTC 31.7%."

And while it may decline in the future per The Street, Saconaghi thinks it will increase since prices have increased since Q3 2009 to Q1 2010, from $588.00 USD to $638.00 USD, and demand doesn't seem to be subsiding. He also sets a target stock price of $250.00 USD. Well, let's see what June brings.

Apple Stock Has a New Target Price

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/arti...estimate_apple/

"Another analyst has raised his price target for shares in Apple Inc. to US$210 per share, joining Thomas Weisel analyst Doug Reid who did the same thing on September 28th. Oppenheimer analyst Yair Reiner said in a research note that investors underestimate Apple's ability to generate profits from the iPhone, and moved his price target on the company's stock from $180 per share to $210."

As of about 5 minutes ago, Apple stock was at $184.56 USD, up a little over $3.00 USD today. This target price increase is based partly on a story we talked about previously, where accounting changes were going to be a benefit to Apple and others that are being allowed to change how they account for subscription based sales. We shall see.
