How Tech Savvy is Your City?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "The Competition" @ 01:30 PM

"Where do early adopters of consumer tech congregate in the U.S.? Not where you might expect, according to a survey appearing in the September issue of Men's Health, which hits newsstands Tuesday."

Plano, TX. Not exactly the first city that would have come to mind if I were asked which city came out on tops as the city with the most early tech adopters, but that is exactly what landed as number one. It even beat out San Francisco, which came out at number 3. The criteria was as follows:

"To determine the rankings, editors looked at tablet use based on ad impressions from mobile ad network Chitika, the number of Apple and Best Buy stores per capita, and the percentage of households that own tablets, notebooks or laptops."

If you live in Toledo, OH you may not even know what a tablet is since your city came in dead last. You can see the entire list here.

Friendly for iPad Updated, But There Are Problems!

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 02:16 PM

"Friendly for Facebook, which is the closest thing the iPad has to a proper Facebook App, now supports in-app use of the iPad 2's cameras, as well as on the spot photo editing."

This really is the best way to use Facebook on the iPad, and it is available in a "plus" version for $0.99 USD [affiliate link] or in a regular free version [link]. The update however, appears to have broken something as most of the comments after the update say their screens are now locking up and many are going back to the previous version. So If you are happy with your current version of Friendly, I might hold off on an update until they resolve this issue!
