WWDC Schedules and App Released

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 04:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2012/05/29/appl...e-official-app/

"The few, the proud, the folks who are going to WWDC now have an idea of what sessions they can attend at this year's Apple Developer's Conference."

You can pickup the schedule here, and then head over to the App Store and get the official app here. Just make sure you are attending WWDC 2012 or the app won't work, since it requires an Apple ID and an attendee password. They keynote will be at 10:00 am on Monday June 11, and I'm sure will be streamed by several sites that day.

Doodle Connects With iCal

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 01:00 PM

http://www.tuaw.com/2011/12/19/dood...oud-scheduling/

"Mac users of the cloud-based scheduling service Doodle will be happy to learn that the company has released a beta of its iCal Connector software for Mac."

This is a service that lets you send out meeting dates to clients, coworkers, friends etc, along with a poll on what date and time is going to best serve each of them. Once you have the results, you can schedule the date and time that best suites the most recipients. Tentative dates are displayed on Outlook or Google Calendar, and now can also be displayed in iCal. Once the date is decided all tentative dates go away. We use this where I work and it is pretty slick, and makes organizing a meeting between people with varying shifts and/or schedules a breeze. It's also free so that's a bonus.

At Least This Apple Store Was Prepared for the Rapture

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 06:41 AM

"If anyone was going to ascend naked directly into heaven as beings made entirely out of light, it's the guys who work for Apple, and while it may not have happened on May 21st as it was supposed to, at least one Apple Store prepared for the Rapture."

The good thing is this is easily modified so they will be ready for October. As a side note, I find it pleasantly surprising that they rotate through various positions, which would tend to keep their skill set well rounded.
