Vodafone Australia Announces Unlimited Data Plans for iPad

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/05/26/voda...plan-for-ipads/

"There's good news for iPad customers in Australia. Vodafone announced today that they will offer an unlimited data plan for the iPad 3G. Here's the deal: For AUS$49.95 (approximately US$41 as of this writing) per month, users can enjoy unlimited data. Not bad!"

Touted as the "first unlimited data plan for the iPad" and with an interesting twist to it. They are offering 6GB data option for $100.00 AUS that expires in 90 days, and a 12GB option for $150.00 AUS that expires in 365 days. Not sure I've seen that before, but I could just be suffering from memory loss.

"Vodafone has announced today that the iPhone will be available on its network in the UK from January 14, 2010."

According to Guy Laurence, the CEO of Vodafone UK, "We started preparing our network over a year ago so that iPhone customers will really feel the advantage of being with Vodafone. We will offer an outstanding iPhone experience wherever our customers live, work and travel, delivering speed and reliability - something our customers have told us they really value." So UK readers, mark your calendar, or just go to their site and pre-order.

Vodafone to Sell iPhones in Ireland and UK

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone & iPod Touch" @ 07:00 AM

http://www.macnn.com/articles/09/09...phone.carriers/

"Vodafone has announced plans to sell the iPhone in both Ireland and the United Kingdom. As sales will only begin in early 2010, few details are available, though via the web interested buyers can sign up for more information as it becomes available."

This after Orange announced it was also going to be selling the iPhone after O2's exclusivity contract apparently ended, bringing the total retailers for your UK iPhone needs to three. Well, I wonder what is going to happen in 2010 with AT&T when their exclusivity clause runs out with Apple? I think the writing is on the wall, based on what is happening in the UK. Granted, they have a bit of a different legal view in terms of cell carriers, but AT&T isn't the only game in town for Apple. What are your thoughts?
