Aperture, iPhoto and Final Cut Pro Updated for Retina Display

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 05:30 PM

http://9to5mac.com/2012/06/11/apple...e+Intelligence)

"Several of Apple's popular Mac apps received updates today following the WWDC keynote, many of which help the apps take full advantage of the new 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro's display."

Aperture got most of the update love, but they didn't leave out iPhoto or Final Cut Pro so those two programs could also take advantage of the Retina Display on the new Macbook Pros.

iWork Suite and Aperture Now Mac App Store Only

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 12:30 PM

http://www.tuaw.com/2012/04/16/appl...ials-from-site/

"Apple pulled the trial versions of Aperture 3 and productivity suite iWork '09 from its website, according to a report from MacStories. The links that previously contained download instructions now redirect users to the Mac App Store. An Apple support forum post suggests the Aperture trial was pulled a while ago."

Aperture 3 and the iWork Suite (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) in the Mac App Store only, no big shocker I'm sure since that is where all of their software will end up. I do like it that way myself, makes things so much easier especially if you get a new machine and need to reinstall.

"Windows Phone 7 Connector is a simple, easy-to-use application designed to sync your favorite media files from your Mac, with your Windows Phone 7 or Zune HD. You can also sync photos and videos you captured on your phone with your Mac, and when needed, update your Windows Phone 7 software."

Mac users, make your way to the App Store and grab today's update of Windows Phone 7 Connector. Microsoft has tagged it with a version number of 2.0, and with it, there's full sync and import support for Aperture, drag-and-drop support, ringtone transfer and Windows Phone Marketplace support if your phone is running Windows Phone 7.5, as well as a bunch of other goodies ranging from backup and restore improvements to additional languages. And all for the good ol' price of free.

Another Aperture Update. No, Really...and iMovie

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.macworld.com/article/150...l?lsrc=rss_main

"Still running into trouble with Aperture 3, even after the recent Aperture 3.0.1 update? Not to worry, Apple has just posted yet another update for Aperture 3 users."

Hot on the heels of 3.0.1 Apple releases Aperture 3.0.2. Not only did they add iPad compatibility, they also added a few features such as a display for how much disk space you need to import to an existing iPhoto or Aperture library. Also included are the obligatory bug fixes and stability issues, some of which took care of import slowdown and lost data issues. iMovie also came out with 8.0.6 which addressed issues on video files that are in the Aperture library.
