Free One Day Shipping From Amazon.com

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "The Competition" @ 11:00 AM

http://gizmodo.com/5715229/amazons-.../full+(Gizmodo)

"Well this is a nice early stocking stuffer! Now through 11:59pm (PST) on December 22nd, Amazon's giving you free one-day shipping on certain electronics, software, and video games. After you add a qualifying item to your cart, select One-Day Shipping at checkout and they'll apply the discount."

All kinds of deals are popping up as we approach Christmas, and one-day shipping for free is a pretty good one if you are one of those that likes to live on the edge and shop last minute. Amazon.com has set up a page to show you all the items that qualify for this deal here to make it easy for you.

iPads Now Shipping Within A Day

Posted by Michael Knutson in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.padgadget.com/2010/08/29...get+(PadGadget)

"About a week ago, we reported that iPads ordered online shipped within 3 days. Today, Fortune noticed that iPad online orders are finally shipping within 24 hours, the shortest lead time since the launch of the tablet, about 5 months ago."

Excellent news! iPad supply seems to have caught up with demand, after five months. Funny (or maybe more ironic?) that now I'm seeing sites complaining about Apple 'only offering' the free shipping option (no for-fee expedited overnight delivery, for example). In my experience, Apple's shipping is already pretty fast, and since most products seem to come from China, why mess with something that already is working well? If you're in that much of a hurry, go to an Apple Store or a reseller!

iPhone 4 Early? Possibly, But at Wal-Mart it's Reality

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 12:00 PM

"Apple is delivering those iPhone 4's a day early, the company is confirming in emails to some customers."

Interesting. A day early. Isn't that the same day the press event in New York is being held for the new Droid? I'm sure coincidence is all this is, but even earlier is the appearance of the iPhone 4 at an undisclosed Wal-Mart.

Are You Nuts?

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...e_you_nuts.html

"Apple chief executive Steve Jobs this week continued to showcase his own flavor of public relations management, asking one supporter if he was insane to suggest the company had mislead international customers with regard to iPad availability."

It could be they ran out of parts, or they wanted to delay to work on the Wi-Fi issue, or it could be planned. Who knows. But I always enjoy reading about this email responses that he sends out, and he doesn't mince words. Not the best for PR I suppose but at least you know where he stands.

International iPad Shipments Delayed

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 10:00 AM

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-2...subj=News-Apple

"Apple's iPad won't be available outside the U.S. until the end of May, a delay of one month from its original global launch date."

Sorry to our friends in other countries, but the U.S. demand was stronger than Apple thoughts so it appears you won't be getting your hands on an iPad until the end of May, but you can pre-order on Monday, May 10th.

Help for Your Package Tracking Needs

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch)" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/03/16/5-ap...king-a-package/

"A few of you recently ordered an iPad. Now, the obsessive calendar-watching begins. How can April 3rd seem so far away? Satisfy your need for up-to-the-second notification of your iPad's whereabouts with one of these package tracking apps for the iPhone and iPod touch."

Pretty good run through of several (5) applications that can help you track that package, from free to $2.99 USD.
