TWC TV App Adds Several Sports Options

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 05:00 AM

"On Friday, Time Warner Cable added a number of national and regional sports networks to the free TWC TV app for iOS and the TWCTV.com Web portal."

If you are an Expanded Basic or higher customer with Time Warner Cable then you can access more things on your iOS device. Unfortunately, you have to be inside your home. I hate apps that restrict you to staying in your home, but if you are one of their customers it will give you mobility, with limits of course.

Time Warner Fighting for iPad App Use

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 02:00 AM

"And they're off! I thought it was weird that Time Warner was pushing so hard to get streaming cable channels on its new iPad app, but apparently it's ready to back up that stance."

And back it up they are by filing a lawsuit in US District Court asking the courts to decide if they will be able to show subscription channels on the iPad. I don't see why not, if the customer is already paying to watch why shouldn't they be allowed to watch it on whatever device they choose. It seems it is no different than what Dish Network does with their app and allowing you to stream your DVR to your device using the Sling Player. What are your thoughts?

Time Warner Announces Dreams Do Come True App

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 07:00 AM

"With announcements coming almost daily from TV providers about forthcoming apps, Time Warner's take on iPad support seems to be one of the best."

The video above is just one of four videos on YouTube outlining what Time Warner plans to do with the iPad. Among the items are watching on-demand video content and watching the content you have on your DVR from your iPad. If they can pull this off, it will be like a dream come true, at least as far as my wish list is concerned. Now if only Dish Network could or would do something like this. As far as when it will happen is anyone's guess, but at least they are discussing it and covering pretty much everyone's list of iPad dream capabilities.
