iPod Touch Revamped

Since this was a music event, the upgrades to the iPod lineup were expected, and for the most part didn't disappoint. Let's start with the iPod Touch. The price was dropped on the 8GB model to $199.00 USD, $30 cheaper than before, and the 16GB and 32GB models doubled their memory without an increase in price. The 32GB version is $299.00 USD and the 64GB model is $399.00. According to Apple, the 32GB and 64GB versions are 50% faster and have OpenGL ES 2.0 support.

The Claim: Pipe Mania is a game that needs no introduction. This hugely popular game has been ported to various platforms like PC, DS, PSP, Wii before making its way to the iPhone. In this game, the player is provided with pipes of different shapes, which he must lay onto a grid to form a connection between a tap and a drain. He must do this before the time runs out and a slimy green liquid called Flooze oozes out of the pipes.

The App: Available today, Pipe Mania is another clone of the popular Pipe Dreams game that has graced many platforms over the years. I've always said that the only reason the Newton failed was because it was too far ahead of its time to succeed. I'll never be convinced otherwise.
