People Appear Satisfied With the New iPad

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 08:52 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2012/04/02/chan...ed-with-device/

"I love my new iPad and it appears that I am not alone."

I'm in the same group, of course I upgraded from 1st generation iPad so what's not to love right? The survey by Changewave that consisted of 200 new iPad owners shows 98% of them are satisfied with the device. Best feature? The retina display.

Apple Web Site Most Satisfying When Mobile Shopping

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 08:23 AM

http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/arti...=rss_everything

"Research firm ForeSee on Thursday announced the results of a new study in which it found that the mobile shopping experience on Apple's web site was the most satisfying among 3,000 consumers who were asked about 16 e-retailers."

Just edging out Amazon.com by one point, doesn't get much closer than that in these polls does it? Interesting to note the mobile site scored two points higher than the regular site. You can see the press release about the results here.

I Pledge Allegiance to the iPhone...

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:37 AM

"The iPhone is the equivalent of fly-paper when it comes to keeping customers. The Apple smartphone has at least an 89 percent allegiance, twice that of the closest Android handset, according to a Wall Street survey announced Friday."

89% of iPhone owners stick with the iPhone, and why wouldn't we? Not so much for HTC, which only has a 39% retention rate according to the UBS survey just released. And RIM even worse with 33%.

Apple's iPad Hits 68% MarketShare

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:24 AM

http://www.macrumors.com/2011/09/14...8-of-shipments/

"Research firm IDC today released the results of its study of worldwide tablet and eReader shipments for the second quarter of 2011, and while the tablet market has changed dramatically in the nearly three months since the quarter ended, the data still offers an interesting look at Apple's performance in the market."

It is still Apple's market to lose, with 68% now per this info. 68% marketshare versus 65% in the previous quarter. RIM is certainly feeling it as Apple shipped 19 iPads to every one of Rim's PlayBooks.

iPad is the Brand Satisfaction Winner for Tablets

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 03:00 AM

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-2...subj=News-Apple

"iPad leads in brand satisfaction among U.S. consumers, though a relatively obscure tablet maker came in a close second, according to IHS iSuppli."

The scores are all pretty close, at least in the top few. Zenithink? Yea, I had the same reaction, but apparently it is a Chinese company and they clarified the high rating by saying the sample was very low. Seems like sloppy data collection to me. Regardless, Apple did get the top numbers when compared to all the others and the prediction is that this will hold at least through 2012. I don't think I can disagree there, what are your thoughts?

iPhone Takes 1st Place in J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Awards...Again!

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 06:30 PM

http://www.macworld.com/article/158...l#lsrc.rss_main

"Apple's iPhone has again taken first place in J.D. Power and Associates' smartphone customer satisfaction rankings. Thursday's announcement by J.D. Power was the iPhone's fifth consecutive win in the firm's semi-annual ratings."

5 wins in a row, not too shabby for a phone that Consumer Reports won't even recommend right? This time Apple was ahead of Motorola and HTC by 22 and 23 points respectively, scoring 795 out of possible 1000 points. 7,300 consumers and business users were surveyed, and it was interesting to me that the scores got higher the more the user accessed social networking services. I guess those Twitter users know a good smartphone when they have one in their hands.

#4 Isn't Bad When You Look at the Rest of the List

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/05/10/appl...tailing-survey/

"This a bit of good news for Apple -- despite the numerous complaints seen day to day against the company, Apple's online store came in fourth in overall customer satisfaction in a recent survey."

This survey happened during a two-week period in February 2010, and the results show Apple ranked behind Netflix, Amazon and Avon to snag the number 4 spot. I can't say much about shopping at Avon (no, the Internet rumors are false), but the other three are stellar for customer service in my experience.

AT&T Bottom of the Barrel

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone & iPod Touch" @ 09:00 AM

http://digitaldaily.allthingsd.com/...service-survey/

"The annual survey of wireless customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports hits the streets this week and it doesn't have much good to say about AT&T. In a canvass of more than 50,000 readers spanning 26 U.S. cities, the organization found the carrier had the lowest customer-satisfaction rating in 19 cities surveyed; Verizon ranked highest."

This was pretty much across the board in all cities, dead last. Interesting note to go along with all of this is that 98% of iPhone users would buy the phone again, compared to only 78% of other phones. I haven't had the lows that the respondents of this survey have with AT&T, what has been your experience?

Apple Leads in Customer Satisfaction

Posted by Vincent Ferrari in "Apple Talk" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...ion_survey.html

"ChangeWave's survey also asked recent buyers to rank their new PC purchase as being very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, somewhat unsatisfied, or very unsatisfied. Apple claimed the top spot with 81% saying they were very satisfied, compared to figures of 67% to 50% from other top PC manufacturers."

Those numbers are astonishing. Only half of Lenovo buyers are happy with their 90 day old purchases? I'm sorry, but when the best numbers for PC manufacturers are held by ASUS at 67% satisfaction, that's a problem. The challenge for PC manufacturers will be figuring out what exactly people are unhappy with and making changes to fix it. No one should be that unhappy with their new computer that close to the return period.
